Mike Kennedy is the president of North Point Financial Advisors, Inc. and manages the portfolio strategies for the company’s clients.

After a successful career in broadcasting, Mike went into the financial services industry in 1994 as a futures broker. Later in the 1990s, Mike was a co-owner and principal in a commodities brokerage firm, American Research and Trading. Those years in the futures industry gave him a great perspective on the interrelationships of very diverse markets such as energy, agriculture, currencies, bonds and stocks.

With the belief that a portfolio manager can consistently outperform his peers and the overall market by employing strict risk management practices and loss control, Mike formed the North Point Financial Advisors as a Registered Investment Advisor in 2004.

He has held, at various times, four licenses from the NASD and still hold the Series 65 license for Registered Investment Advisors.

When he is not building and managing client portfolios, Mike is managing his son’s baseball team at the Hopewell Youth Association. He is also the President of the Angelman Syndrome Foundation of Georgia, Inc., a non-profit foundation that assists persons with Angelman Syndrome and their families. Mike is very active in political and civic associations and in 2006 he was appointed to the Alpharetta Development Authority, the economic development arm of the city of Alpharetta, Georgia, where he currently serves as Vice-Chairman.
